On February 6, two texts relating to ‘JONUM’ (games based on “monetizable digital assets”) introduced by the French SREN Law were published:

> the implementing Decree detailing the experimental framework;

> the Order setting out the mandatory gambling risk warning message to be displayed by operators.

👉 Key points of the implementing Decree on JONUM:

🎮 Eligible game categories : action/combat, breeding, fantasy sports (including fantasy horse racing), adventure/quest, management/construction, and racing games;

🎁 Permitted rewards (ancillary only): in-kind rewards (capped at €1,000 per player per year) and certain crypto-assets within the meaning of hashtag#MiCA, excluding asset-referenced tokens, e-money tokens and utility tokens, subject to per-player and global caps;

🚨 Prior notification to the ANJ before launch (operator details, governance, technical setup, technologies used);

✅ Player account & age verification requirements, including identity verifications within 30 days and robust mechanisms preventing minor access;

🎯 Responsible gaming obligations: mandatory spending caps, time limits, and immediate self-exclusion mechanisms;

👉 The Order specifies the exact wording, placement and visibility requirements of the mandatory warning message on excessive or pathological gaming risks (effective within three months of publication).

📅 The JONUM framework is now fully operational for operators wishing to launch eligible blockchain-based games in France.
